The Highlands County Board of County Commissioners has awarded a contract to HT3, LLC,
a fishing trails tournament company with offices in Florida and Alabama.
Through the County's Tourist Development Council, the County will sponsor 5 fishing tournaments in 2007.

Next time you are fishing your favorite shallow water spot drop down one or two sizes on the weight. With the water levels lower than
normal, less weight will give the bait a slower natural fall. Also, try longer cast when fishing clear water. While enjoying all the great lakes
we have in Highlands County, please practice catch and release, boating safety and always wear sun block to protect your skin.
